About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To thoroughly enjoy the midwest while I'm rooted in Bloomington, IN for grad school.
ABOUT ME
I'm a California girl through and through, but I've found myself recently in the midwest and while I'm adjusting to my new life as someone with a stable address I still manage to work in weekend adventures as often as possible.
The last ten years: I went to college, did the backpacking thing in Europe. Did a summer stint in Maine. Another in New Orlearns. Took a cross-country railroad trip from New Orleans, to New York, to Montreal, and then back to California. Kept trying to figure out what to do with myself. Fell in love. Spent a summer in upstate New York while my sister did summer stock. Took a long visit to SIngapore with my parents. Went to New Zealand to meet my boyfriend's family, didn't ever want to leave. Decided I wanted to further my education in music so applied to Grad school. Got in. Worked in Oakland to save money. Moved to Bloomington.
Next ten years: I want to fulfill a long standing promise to myself to travel Australia and New Zealand taking at the very least several months to do so. I will graduate. I will have a whole new set of skillz that will hopefully help me employ myself educating others in music and writing about music. And I'm sure all sorts of exciting things I can't even dream of will happen.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is wonderful.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have an open couch and I have been kindly hosted just a few times by the most wonderful individuals in Portland and in Bloomington.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Portland Oregon: It was the tail end of my cross-country jaunt and I was joining my friend on a car camping trip from Portland back down to SF. We stayed with this girl in Portland and had a lovely dinner and a raucous night on the town.
Bloomington, IN. When we first moved to Bloomington, a group of guys living on the north of town kindly put us up for a few nights while we looked for a place to live. They all worked on a nearby farm and one night we came home to discover they had about 20 pounds of potatoes. So we spent the evening cooking potatoes in half a dozen ways. So much fun.
Chicago, IL: Igor! My friend and I had the pleasure of staying with Igor near Andersonville. He took us out on his bikes and we stayed up late talking about traveling and life. I may have re-caught the travel bug from him. :)
Interests
Coffee and Music is pretty much what sustains me. But I also love the outdoors, I love hiking and running, swimming and bouldering (very meekishly however). I enjoy a good bourbon cocktail and a fine meal, but at the same time tacos and PBR can make a night divine. Silliness is also a primary interest of mine.
