About Me

I LOVE DOGS.

Now we got that out of the way.. Hi! I'm Stephanie!

At the moment I'm on an extended trip going wherever, doing whatever.. for however long I can/want. I've spent most of my 'adult life' studying, working & volunteering in Holland (where I'm from), Southern & Eastern Africa, Japan & California and traveling all over. I think home is something you carry within you so I feel at home in a lot of places!

In general, I smile & laugh a lot. I'm pretty introverted and like my alone time but am also adventurous and enjoy connecting to people. This means I'm a little socially awkward at start and bad at small talk but like heavy conversations/discussions and just exchanging good stories.

Besides dogs, I actually loooove all animals.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm on Couchsurfing because the philosophy behind it melts my cold cold heart. I just think it's a really cool and positive concept. People all over the world opening up their homes and hearts to strangers.. I love it.

My life has been pretty unstable -but exciting- for the last couple of years, leaving me without much space (literally) to host whenever I'm in Holland. I've been down to meet up, hang out and show around though. However, this means that I'm that jerk that's only been surfing...-_- But that has been great so far! Having that local insight is amazing and a good host can totally make your trip. I still talk and meet up whenever possible with some of my earlier hosts, and others have turned into lifelong friends.

Personally, it's also good for me because when I travel by myself I sometimes get stuck in an isolation bubble and it's a nice reminder to actually be social at times.

Interests

I'm very much both an indoor (tv/movies/tech/reading) and outdoor (nature/hiking/animals/camping) type of person.

Exploring and being mindful and conscious in every way/shape possible is very important to me. The world, knowledge, nature, myself, others.. all good!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm pretty low maintenance when it comes to entertainment. I do really enjoy music, watch a lot of movies, love books (and don't read them enough) and have personal preferences but am open to a lot.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure what to teach. How to enchant dogs? Dutch? Basic yoga? Social media blabla? Stuff about the environment or animals?

There are so many things I wanna be able to do and know, so loads of things to learn. I'm learning my way into photography and interested in Buddhism at the moment.

Let's share!
