ABOUT ME

I am a free spirited, artsy, 26 year old chick always ready for a new adventure. I graduated with a B.S. in Studio Arts with a concentration in Jewelry and Metalsmithing in 2011. After I completed that, my wanderlust took over and I moved to one of the most gorgeous places I have ever seen... I spent 3 summers sandwiched right between Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park. Some of my fondest memories and closest friends are from that wonderful gem of a place. I adore meeting new friends, exploring foreign places, and experiencing all that I can fit into this short but beautiful existence.

This summer I will be backpacking Europe which brings about a lot of firsts for me. It is my first time traveling to Europe, my first time being able to say I have months off from work, and my first time traveling with nothing but a bag on my back! As a budget traveler I plan to stay in hostels and with friends both old and new. I am incredibly eager for this experience and look forward to all the strangers who I will soon be able to call friends :)

Travel. I want to experience the gorgeous diversity of cultures throughout the world. There is nothing that stimulates me as much as being exposed to a new place.
I'm a fan of random dance parties, soaking in hot springs underneath the Milky Way, yoga, photography, thrift store shopping, hiking, backpacking, hosting dinner parties, laughing, lost wax silver casting, bonfires, homemade hard cider, trying new travel gear, kayaking, land art, meeting people with a story I've never heard, camping, painting, Dr. Who, healthy food, smoothies, waterfalls, playing games, and dancing like no one is watching. I'm always open for trying something I've never done and I would do just about anything in the world for my family and friends.

Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue

A 39 mile overnight excursion in Grand Teton National Park. Myself and 3 friends began our adventure by kayaking 9 miles down the Snake River which feeds into Jackson Lake. The sun was shining, wildflowers were in bloom, and the wildlife was abundant. There are few things in this world that put me in a better mood than a gentle kayak in a unbelievably gorgeous place. Or flowing water in general.

We then kayaked 3 miles across Jackson Lake to reach the remote trailhead where we would begin our hike. Unlike other hikes in the park with trails that see hundreds of hikers a day, this was a bit more backcountry and we only came across 4 other people the entire trip. The 10 mile hike up Webb Canyon was perhaps the prettiest hike I've ever done. For several miles, we walked alongside a gorgeous, pristine, clear and aqua blue river whose song assured I had a constant smile on my face. We passed countless raging waterfalls and hiked through fields of colorful wildflowers that were as tall as us. I was in my happy place. I felt no sense of exhaustion. Only pure joy and my momentum was never lacking which was shocking. The energy was peaceful and I will never forget how warm my heart felt. After 10 miles we set up camp. We ate, drank wine, and passed out while the sky was still lit.

The following day we hiked 16 miles up and over the pass where we had fabulous views of the canyons, as well as views as far as Yellowstone Lake, and proceeded to hike down and out of the neighboring Owl Canyon. At the end of our hike we kayaked our final mile across the lake where we had left our car. We drove a few miles down the road and finished our adventure by indulging in the best pizza and beer we had ever had.
