ABOUT ME
"I am a wandering girl/and my heart is full of longing." Anna Akhmatova
I just got back from backpacking in Europe after quitting my job in the alternative mental health field. I am driving from Michigan to Alaska, where I will be working for the summer on the Kenai Peninsula.
I also started a travel blog: native-traveler.com
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Some of my best memories traveling have been the conversations I've had and time I've spent with people I've met along the way. I Couchsurf because I am as interested in people as I am the places they inhabit. I want to practice hospitality and reciprocity as a host and as a guest.

Music, Movies, and Books
I like modern American folk music and classic rock, I generally read poetry and novels (all varieties), and the last movie I saw in theater's was Woody Allen's "Magic in the Moonlight"--it was okay.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've done a lot of interesting things for work: I've edited New York Times Best-selling books, toiled as an organic farmer, worked in the alternative mental health field, WWOOFed on a vineyard in Tuscany, and been a substitute special education teacher.
