About Me

Being authentic is important. I'm still learning about life and love and wisdom and how to be. I love thinking and talking about life, dreaming, and singing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I surfed a couple of couches in the US and I've met Couchsurfing people in Hong Kong and Singapore (locals, expats, travellers who are just passing through). I found out about a Swing Dance weekly social in Hong Kong when I was living there for 3 months and didn't know anyone, and ended up making friends there and went back to the social every week. I think Couchsurfing is a great way to meet new people and get insight into doing what the locals do!

Interests

I love exploring new places and things to do even in a familiar city. I like going to different cafes/restaurants every time I go out, and taking different routes to get somewhere. May we never lose our wonder.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy many types of music, including rock, folk, punk, electro, alternative, pop, etc. Some of my favourite musicians include Andrew Bird, Brand New, Simon & Garfunkel, and Kings of Convenience.

I majored in English Literature in university and also took several film classes there. I love the classics! They are classic for a reason: timelessly good. Some of my favourite films include The Lord of the Rings, Vertigo, When Harry Met Sally, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and The Graduate. Mostly I like movies that are deep and make you think, but I really like good fun ones too, like Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

My favourite book is the Bible. I'm a Christian and I really believe that there is so much wisdom, life, and goodness in this book, that I honesty never really saw when I was younger. Besides this, I also really enjoy literary classics across the genres, like Jane Eyre, The Great Gatsby, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, The Bell Jar, and Frankenstein.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I did an Christian arts school that brought me to Amsterdam and South Africa. During the school, I saw many miracles like sick people being healed instantly in the name of Jesus.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you English and what I know about God and the Bible.

Currently, I would love to learn more French, guitar, and piano.

Share: My knowledge of art, literature, critical theory, Singapore politics and history, culture, film, general knowledge, and etc. I’d love to talk about these things!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my life experiences and stories. I am also very clean and mindful of others. I also enjoy deep conversations, about life, art, history, etc.
