About Me

ABOUT ME

Well ... Having written a lot during my studies since 2007 (and saying a lot I mean I killed so many trees and keyboards I wouldn't be able to count them), I'd rather meet people in person and tell them about me. (Even though this sounds lazy. Which - to be honest - it most probably is.)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Why I'm on this site? Because meeting new people is the stuff that keeps me going. I love all the old (and new) friends I have but I wouldn't be able to survive with new input, new world views, new people to argue with, new people to laugh and sing and dance with ... etc. etc.

Interests

See the About Me section ;)
Although I can tell you that I love books and comics. (Some posh people would call most of those comics I like Graphic Novels. But for me they will always stay comics. ... Aaaaand Calvin&Hobbes of course :))
I love to watch movies some would consider artsy (not the usual Hollywood stuff ... even though there are some pretty good ones as well).
Interestingly I read so many books, comics and watched so many movies in the last years (studying Literature/Arts and Culture was really cool, actually) that I haven't found a lot of time lately to actually read or watch a movie. Somehow I just can't stand it any longer to be imprisoned in a room for too long (even if it's for the pleasure of reading or cinema/dvd). I want to see as much of the world and it's weather and it's people as possible, I guess.
Still, I guess I'm a good choice if you are looking for someone to discuss books or movies with. Old love never dies. Or something like that ;)

Music, Movies, and Books

If I see a good movie/hear great music/read an astonishing book, it might become my newest favorite, but there are some all time favs I have:

Musicians: Muse, Frank Turner, Queen ( ^^ ), Town of Saints, Kettcar (a German band), Foo Fighters, Radiohead, Tenacious D, Tim Minchin (I think you can consider him a musician ... he's just great)

Authors: Neil Gaiman, Stanislaw Lem, Juli Zeh (a German writer), Vladimir Nabokov, China Miéville ... And if you remind me of a book I might just go "Yeeeah, I love that guy!" and it would actually be true ;)

Movies: Drive, Wilbur wants to kill himself, Savin Grace ... I just realized there are just too many.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Chronogically:
I was born, learned to walk and talk, mess with my parents, love, write and read, understood that I now understand how things are going, understood that I didn't have the slighest idea what's going on and what I have to do with it and many things more :)

Teach, Learn, Share

In general I am rather patient when it comes to teaching others (in other areas, my patience is rather limited), so I would be glad to teach you stuff I know (from cooking to German to gardening to ... well, we'll see).
I am also always eager to learn something new and curious about all the interesting things you can learn just by spending time with someone.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am quite an uncomplicated guest but would be glad to keep you company (if you want me to). For me it's always a good experience to host people as sometimes we discover places in my home town I didn't even know (or think about) existed.
