About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Look at pretty things and meet amazing people

ABOUT ME

I'm 28, born and raised in New York State, I first left home at 17 for a year in Hungary. Came back, did uni and got a 'grown-up' job, and it took me ten more years to leave the country again.

Taught English for a year and a half in Korea, then did 3 months on the banana pancake trail, now I'm off to (in, I guess, as you're reading this) Europe until the holidays.

Quick stop in Norway, then back to Hungary for my first visit in a decade, then Turkey, Greece, Croatia, Italy -- slowly making my way around the Mediterranean and up north.

At least that's the current plan. Sometimes I get distracted by shiny things.

PHILOSOPHY

If you want a life filled with travel and art and romance and adventure, then surround yourself with those things.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now I'm traveling; whenever I have my own place again I'll be an enthusiastic host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Couchsurfing baby, but I have met many people that have hosted/been hosted, and they've all been incredibly lovely, so I have high hopes for the future!

Interests

I love theatre and museums and really any performance-based cultural thing. Sports when it doesn't matter how bad I suck at them. Cooking and wine and music and doing tarot readings. I've recently decided i want to learn how to play the autoharp, so the next plan is to acquire an autoharp.
I also travel. I really love travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love progressive bluegrass and folk music, jazz and all the old standards. For books I've lately been on a magical realism kick. I've lived in Asia for the past two years so I like movies that are shown in English.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Check out my picture where I'm touching foreheads with an elephant. That was a pretty amazing week at the Elephant Nature Park in North Thailand.

Other (potentially generic with this crowd, but still true) answers:
3 day bike trip around a tropical island
skydiving
seeing the Kuang Si waterfall near Luang Prabang, Laos

Teach, Learn, Share

I can give you (also teach you a bit about) a tarot reading.
I can teach you how to make a mean apple pie.
