My name is Stephan, as you have probably already noticed, and currently travelling around Australia. I have lived most of my life in The Netherlands, but studied abroad in the UK and Belgium extensively.

I have a semi-hobby fixing up bicycles (whenever its broken) and love cycling long distances. Similarly, I enjoy hiking (although I do this less than I would like to) long distance and camping along side the trails. Recently, I have also decided to start with kite-surfing and see how far that goes.

I love travelling and meeting new people along the way.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have some experience in couchsurfing, but have hosted more than surfed myself (mostly friends and/or friends of friends).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have been using someones couch in Germany while doing a europe city trip with our car at the time. I had never heard of a winerij where you could taste so many different wines and leave a free donation at the end, to which he took us. I was a nice experience, being introduced to something you haven't heard of.

I think this was my first actual couch experience and probably the only one also. I have hosted more than surfed.

Interests

Every summer I have always occupied myself with helping my friends build things for festivals. Wood, steel, etc. My friends are the masterminds in thinking the stuff out and I am usually there to help them build it.

I also like to work on old bikes and fix them up again.
