About Me

Young and restless, passionate about sustainable travel, social impact and entrepreneurship. My background is Indonesian/English but I've spent most of the past 5 years between Indonesia, Australia, Denmark, Guatemala, Cambodia and the USA. Somewhere, I managed to pick up a Canadian/American accent and it has just never left. Identity crisis? Most definitely.

I'm a self-confessed "digital nomad" - leading a location independent lifestyle at the intersection of technology, entrepreneurship and social change. So far have visited 35+ countries and I'm intensely curious about new cultures and learning languages (current challenge is Balinese!).

I have a deep fascination with people I haven't met, and places I've never been. I travel with an open heart and a curious mind. I enjoy philosophical conversations over red wine and have an unhealthy obsession with peanut butter. I smile a lot (probably too much) and am often laughing uncontrollably.

If you're a little strange, I think we'll get along just fine :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted yet as I'm constantly traveling, but I have organised and attended CS Meetups in various countries and hung out with CS travelers around the world. I am looking forward getting involved in more CS events and hosting in the future!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I had my first semi-planned couch surfing experience in Madrid and loved it! I believe CS is the best way to see the world and learn about other cultures. The philosophy behind CS really makes it really unique - and an absolute privilege to be part of! :)

PHILOSOPHY

"There are no strangers here; Only friends you haven't yet met." - William Butler Yeats

"Nothing can make our lives, or the lives of other people, more beautiful than perpetual kindness." -Tolstoy

"You will never be completely at home again, because part of your heart will always be elsewhere. That is the price you pay for the richness of loving and knowing people in more than one place." - Miriam Adeney

"Life is either a daring adventure or nothing at all."

"You only live once, but if you do it right, once is enough."

"Traveling allows you to feel more connected to your fellow human beings in a deep and lasting way, like little else can. In other words, it makes you more human."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went skydiving over turquoise blue waters in Jurien Bay; fell asleep under a blanket of stars in the Thar desert; snorkelled the second largest barrier reef in Belize with sea turtles; spontaneously took part in an Indian wedding in Jaipur; saw The Swan Lake performed by the Russian Ballet in St Petersburg; experienced the eruption of Gunung Merapi while living in Yogyakarta; swam and climbed through water caves in Guatemala with only a candle in hand; and got up close and personal with Komodo dragons after cruising around the islands of Nusa Tenggara!
