About Me

Good Day! I'm Stephen - thank you so much for reading my profile! My goal today is to be the most pleasant, relaxed, honest, and wonderful person you have met.

I am a "new" American world traveler (I'm just getting started!). I was previously working in the typical American office space job, and decided to jump at a chance that allowed me to travel the world! I hope to meet all the people I can, help those along the way, and share in great memories and experiences.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing to meet people! My philosophy is to travel very humbly, with an open mind & heart. I hate being the "typical tourist" and truly want to hear your story and see your home through your eyes.

Interests

I am a huge outdoor fan and you can find me hiking, camping, kayaking, rafting, or diving. I also love to experience new cities & culture. Getting lost in a new place is one of my favorite things to do!

I'm a avid scuba diver and hope to one day dive all of the top dive spots on the planet (I'm working through them!).

Professionally, I am interested in small business development, new investment projects, & real estate.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am incredibly eclectic in music tastes but in general I like classic rock, anything Sinatra, classical piano, new age, and movie soundtracks. For movies, I'm a total science fiction fan.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Some of the really cool things so far.....
- I was the best in the world at something (I'll tell you about it if we meet).
- Taught my little brother how to ride a bike
- I was a real estate investor before age 25
- I can juggle really well, and ride a unicycle.
- Paid my way through college and cleared all my debt
- I have blended the Worlds Best Chocolate Milkshake (yes, that is a challenge).
- I have river rafted several Class 5 rapids
- I have repelled down a 300 meter abseil
- I have dived with Sharks (several trips including Great Whites)

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to learn anything you have to teach (seriously). One my of my priority goals in traveling is to learn and share in the talents of others. I sincerely hope we can share together!

On my end:
- I'm a fairly competent "techie" so I can usually help with computer related tasks or problems. I am happy to teach you how to use any desired software.
- Professionally - I'm happy to offer any number crunching, accounting, marketing, or business consulting you may need.
- I can teach you the first basic dance steps of the hustle, waltz, and shuffle.
- I can teach you to juggle, fold a paper crane, or build a toothpick bridge.
- I can make REALLY good milkshakes & smores (if you don't know what a smore is you really should invite me over just for that - it will change your world).

What I Can Share with Hosts

- Some great stories and conversation with lots (and lots!) of laughter.
- In some cases, I'm happy to be the designated chef!
- I'm always up to do the basic cleaning, gardening, light maintenance work in exchange for a night's bed.
