I'm an animator in Brooklyn who currently makes his living working at a French restaurant in downtown Manhattan. Experiencing the world is a love only second to animating for me, and I try to fly somewhere at least once a year.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love to travel, and one of my favorite parts of travelling is meeting new people from all over the world. That, and some of my best travelling experiences have been while staying with a local.

Interests

Cartooning/animating, and constantly challenging my comfort zone in terms of technique/ideas.
I love to read, especially on the subway and at coffee shops.
I'm fascinated with language, and often one of my favorite things about leaving the country is becoming immersed in a tongue I'm still just trying to learn.
And there are few things better than a good heavy metal show.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love heavy metal, of all kinds. My favorite bands include High on Fire, Gojira, Mastodon, At the Gates, and Devin Townsend. I also love indie hip-hop like Blackalicious, Atmosphere, Oddisee, and RJD2. But most importantly, I like music that's interesting.
Far as movies go, anything by the Coen brothers, Pulp Fiction, City of God, Y Tu Mama Tambien, weird Eastern European animation, old 70s thrillers like The Conversation, and I could keep going but that's enough.
I love Dune, American Gods, anything Tom Robbins wrote, biographies of interesting individuals (most recently Marco Polo and Aleister Crowley), and Douglas Adams. I'm also a comics junkie, mostly underground stuff like Too Much Coffee Man, Maus, Transmetropolitan, and Saga, but I also love superhero comics when it's brilliant stuff like Matt Fraction's Hawkeye or Mark Waid's Daredevil.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've driven across the United States 3 times. The third time, my aunt and I made it from Connecticut to Vancouver, BC in 50 hours. We didn't even stop for Mt. Rushmore.
