About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My sense of direction is good, but many people think its poor. But I ALWAYS get there eventually, So it must be ok

ABOUT ME

I was 18-19 yrs old, I did the worst job ever. I had to knock on peoples door all day and ask them if they want to buy something from me. Normally they would say "No"- but I learnt a lot from that job.

At uni (Undergraduate) I initially got rejected! (I complained and got in eventually) I studied a Media degree gaining a 1st class honours degree...which is odd, as three years prior to me graduating, the university said they didn't want me. It's the highest academic attainment level achievable.

In my summer holidays (June-Oct), I became a full time overseas holiday advisor for a youth company called 2wentys... entertaining young tourists in Greece (Europe).Organising parties and having way too much fun!

I don't want to travel much anymore; now I want to live and work in different countries across the world. So far I have lived and worked in England, Greece (Zante, Corfu and Crete), China, Thailand, New Zealand, Australia, Colombia and now Spain.

I am a wannabe Radio and TV Presenter - DREAM JOB FACT
I have a Youtube channel. Just type my name but include Thomas as my middle name.

A quick brief biography:

2004 - 2007 (Oct - May) University.

2004 - 2007 (May - Oct) Lived in Greece as an events organiser.

In my first year I almost got thrown out because I was rubbish and 'boring'...but at the end of the season I was voted "funniest person"...But that's because I was ridiculously bad at everything I did and I survived the season.

2007 - 2008 (Nov - Nov) Backpacking. Asia and South America.

2009 (March) BBC Graduate job.

2009 - 2010 (June - Feb) Lived in Greece and Austria. I had to resign as a ski rep as I was awful. I kept getting customers lost in the mountains. One customer said that I was "the worst ski rep ever".

2010 - 2011 Media Technician at a Secondary School, London. I couldn't fix any of the computers so I was "the worst technician ever" according to a 15 year old student.

2011 (Feb) Volunteered in India. People actually liked me there :)

2011 (June - December) Lived and worked in Bangkok. People actually liked me there too :) :)

2012 (Jan - March) Lived and worked in New Zealand as the "worst fruit picker ever" I was awful! They only kept me because I could speak English but I was crap at picking fruit. I kept squashing them and dropping them.

Then they made me drive tractors as I was bad at fruit picking and I was the "worst tractor driver ever". I knocked over half a tree and I admit I kept getting stuck in the hills!

I then became a sheep farmer and I was the "worst sheep farmer ever". I stunk of s**t. The farmers laughed and shock their heads as I was trying to run after a million sheep.

Then I was an apple picker. In a ten hour shift I only picked one container of apples. The next day my boss said that all my apples were rubbish and bruised and that I was "the worst apple picker ever". I actually thought I did a good job. He didn't agree. I was politely asked to leave. This has now become a trend.

2012 (April - August) Lived and worked in Australia as a waiter in an Indian restaurant. I couldn't pronounce any of the curry dishes. Someone said I had the "worst reading skills ever". For some reason they liked me there, Although I turned up late and missed nearly every Monday.

2012 - Living in Medellin. I will try not be the worst at anything...but then again, I'll try everything.

2013 - Studied at Cambridge University

2014 - Lived in Madrid.

2016 - Back in London - Working hard, doing things I really don't want to be doing and making lifestyle sacrifices. I need to do it to lay some solid foundations for the people around me.

In my opinion i'm not that bad at everything I do...I just need time.. ;)

2017 - Living in Cambridge hanging out with nurses all day.

2018 - Living in Malaga - Sunshine

PHILOSOPHY

Treat others the way you want to be treated. What goes around..comes around. Also-very important...you make your own luck in life. Think positively and positive things will happen. Don't take no for an answer. Everyone has set backs in life..but it's how you deal with them that counts.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

After seeing many places and wanting to integrate with the real society, I thought it would be a good idea to help people out who visit my country (or wherever I am), therefore I will help those who are feeling the way I did when I first started out traveling.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I got offered to spend the Khmer new year in Cambodia with a family who lived in a remote village away from all tourist destinations. It was great for me to see how people really live, which is not in an environment where tourist occupy and influence the way of life.
I will never forget that.

Interests

I like to play football...although, i'm not that good..typical.

I love watching musical theatre because its uplifting and some other pieces of art, however sometimes I really don't want to analyse it afterward...things don't always have to be done in a certain way and have a meaning...

I really love looking at photos which were taken in a natural setting. I have a slight obsession about time and how it can never be given back to you - so a photo is a thing which happened in a moment of time which can never be repeated.

I love being busy.

Music, Movies, and Books

First they killed my father, Shantaram, Da Vinchi code, The Catcher in the Rye, Deception Point, Simon Cowell's autobiography, Great Expectations (although I lost the book on a plane and haven't read the end), High Society- These aren't my favourite books..but some of the ones I have read...
I have read 2 books in Spanish.
1) Sherlock Holmes (Didn't understand any of it)
2) Inferno by Dan Brown.

Instrumental music, Ambient music, Listening to the Piano and Violin amongst others.

What about Bob?- Funny childhood film.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have eaten a bat...all of it..even the insides..Apart from the face as it still had its teeth in. This was big for me as I hate little creatures that crawl around... This isn't amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach- British way of life and what growing up in England was like. I have a wide range of friends with different upbringings to my own.

Learn- More about other cultures and languages..but sometimes, I don't want to learn anything. I would just be happy talking for hours about a complete irrelevant subject that means nothing, but it was funny or interesting. I want to learn one more language as it changes the way you think for the better. I also want to learn the Piano or Violin.

Share- Company and Friends

Countries I’ve Visited
