One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My greatest contribution to society: I took a class in visual culture, and in our race unit, we had to watch the movie Crash. I introduced the instructor to Watermelon Man, a far superior movie about race, by Melvin Van Peebles. Since then, it has replaced Crash on the syllabus, and scores of college students have been exposed to this American classic. Yes!
