Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION:
Enjoying all that Colorado has to offer in my free time. Boating big rivers in big inflatables and boating small creeks in inflatable kayaks. Climbing big climbs and seeing great things whether by boat, horse, hike, bike, snowshoe, or ski...and preferably combining lots of those into multi-day long adventures.
ABOUT ME:
I am an outdoors kind of guy who like new places and interesting people.
PHILOSOPHY:
Be real. Be yourself. Always keep learning with an open mind.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING:
I especially like to host active travelers and enjoy seeing other people have fun in this gem of a town I love so much. I enjoy participating in the couchsurfing community and sharing my beautiful space with others. My status is set to "Maybe Accepting Guests" because couchsurfing is only one venue in which I host guests. I also host thru Warmshowers, Airbnb and I have friends that make staying here part of their vacation pretty often.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I host very frequently, but have only surfed a time or two so far.
Interests
I'm an outdoor geek. I love boating, biking, camping, traveling, and techy stuff. I like tweaking stuff to be better than intended. When storebought stuff often doesn't fit me or my needs I love the challenge and reward of tackling and overcoming these issues by building my own custom solutions. I love pushing my equipment and my body toward their limits and analysing the results later, usually over a beer and a bowl.

Music, Movies, and Books
Lots of Documentaries and comedies mostly, but I also stray into action, sci-fi, and fantasy movies.
I like most all music, but lately I've been mostly listening to cool singer/songwriters with less production but tons to say in their words if you listen. Stuff like James McMurtry and Chris Night. I've also been listening to a lot of older Lil Wayne and Drake and Kid Ink as well as listening through all of Kanye's discography.
I don't read nearly as much as I used to, but here are a few that I do have "on deck" that I'm slowly picking through from time to time:
Vagabonding: An Uncommon Guide to the Art of Long-Term World Travel
Marijuana: The Connoisseur's Handbook
Yogi's PCT Handbook Planning Guide
Malignant Self-Love: Narcissism Revisited
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
How can you limit it to one: Climbing the active Arenal volcano in La Fortuna Costa Rica. Snorkeling the blue hole in Belize on a multi day dive boat trip. Mountain biking the Leadville Mountain Biking Marathon in 10 hours and 13 minutes. Skiied 65mph and hucked big fast jumps at Wolf Creek Ski Area on my first season learning. Inflatable kayaking the exploratory run of the Weminuche Creek with less than 5 days on a ducky ever. Rowing a 14' Custom Cataraft down the Class IV Piedra river, upper and lower box, with less than 5 days of rowing experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm pretty well versed at all things IT related including security, backups, databases, server management, web design, and video and photo editing. I also know a lot about building mountain and road bikes from scratch and repairing them when broken.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Lots of hosting experiences and advice from a huge range of hosting using various websites.
