About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to learn all that I can

ABOUT ME

I am a laid-back guy, going to school and enjoying this part of California. I do massage therapy. I love meeting new people, and helping them to enjoy the beauty of this amazing area. I love an intelligent conversation. I always see both sides of a debate. I am happy to help others, and am usually pretty quiet and respectful.

PHILOSOPHY

Each one of us has something to give, something to share. Take care of yourself, to find balance in your life, and keep yourself strong so you may help others. Let us do what we can so as to leave the world a better place than we found it. And fully enjoy life, and the beauty and richness therein. Be free. Be yourself.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am happy to facilitate people who wish to see and experience the beauty of the Monterey area.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Thus far I have only hosted.
For the most part, it has been a positive experience and I have meet many wonderful people. This summer, with so many people traveling here, it was a bit overwhelming and I had to stop hosting for a while to re-balance.

The majority of people I have met are great, but a few were rather exhausting - draining me of energy while giving nothing back. It takes some time to recover from such.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read of a lot of informational books and magazines. My taste in music is eclectic, but no rap, metal, or country.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Life is full of amazing things! There is too much to say :)

Teach, Learn, Share

If you will be traveling in the Big Sur area of the coast, there is no mobile signal; turn your phone off or to airplane mode to avoid having the battery completely drained from the phone trying to find signal, so that once you are out of the Big Sur, your phone will still work.

Also, Big Sur has become completely overrun in the past few years, particularly during the summers and especially on weekends. The infrastructure is not designed to accommodate such crowds. Restaurants, campgrounds, and hotels have raised their prices several times and are now exorbitant. I recommend not coming during the summer if possible, and come during the week - not on a weekend. The crowds can be too much, particularly between Big Sur village and Carmel.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am happy to share my cooking ability, stories of my travels, my philosophies, etc. But where I can probably make the biggest practical difference is in helping to relieve the tight muscles, knots, aches and pains that we get from time to time; I am very talented in massage.
