About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Heading westward, ending up eastward

ABOUT ME

I grew up in rural Connecticut, studied journalism in Missouri, and have camped and traveled through maybe half of the states. I've worked as a journalist, baker, teacher, farmer, editor and writer in America & China. Last year, I lived in Jordan & Syria, studying Arabic. Now I've found my way to Taiwan where I'm currently trying to root myself in Taiwanese life and the Chinese language. Enjoying the mixed results.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

hosting, surfing, meeting, enjoying, living.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Haven't had a bad experience yet. I've hosted and surfed, and have found just about every surfer I've met to be generous and thoughtful.

Interests

What's most interesting to me is how interests are ever-changing. Tastes, preferences, styles, the things we define ourselves by today evaporate by tomorrow. I think what interests me most are ideas that challenge, people who relate, and experiences that speak.
