About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To make the stay of those visiting the Red Stick as enjoyable as possible!

Otherwise, I'm trying to find places to stay when I travel and return the favor by making my pad available.

ABOUT ME

New-Jersey-born, Houston-raised, New-Jersey-refined, Johns Hopkins/Baltimore-educated, Saudi Arabia-tested, Baton Rouge-seasoned, and Catherine-loved.

That's the 31+ years of my life as succinctly as I can put it.

PHILOSOPHY

In order to dig deep, first you have to grab a shovel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

If you want to know Baton Rouge the right way, let me help show you around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've slept in hostels in Petra and Amman, Jordan; another in Edinburgh, Scotland; a campground in Florence, Italy; another hostel in Istanbul, Turkey; and ones in Tokyo and Kyoto, Japan. That's about the closest to couch-surfing I've done.

Interests

Travel, among other things (it's why I signed up for this website).

  • running
  • clubbing
  • traveling
  • karaoke
  • surfing
  • soccer

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. In Jubail, Saudi Arabia, I went for a run at 1 AM when it was 99 deg F out, on one of my last nights living there.
2. In Dubai, I took an aerial tour of Dubai, skied inside a mall, dined at an expensive buffet in the Burj Al-Arab hotel, and visited the Burj Khalifa.
3. I hiked just about all of Petra, Jordan, in 14 hours, during which I cut my hand on the Qasr El-Bent Fort and consumed 3 L of water.
4. In Italy, I ascended to the top of Il Duomo and Giotto's Campanile in Florence and the Torre Grossa in San Gimigniano.
5. I also was at the top of the Tower of Pisa when a soccer match was happening nearby. A goal was scored, and I could see the crowd erupt in celebration.
6. I saw Pope Francis I outside Santa Maria Maggiore in Rome (after my phone was pick-pocketed on the Metro earlier that day).
7. While in Istanbul during Ramadan, I walked down a silent Istikal Ave. to check out the Galata Tower at 3 AM after a fun night of clubbing.
8. I got up early for a 6 AM hot air balloon ride through the Cappadocia Valley.
9. I partied two nights in a row in Tokyo until 6 AM and 7 AM, respectively. That first night included seeing Robot Restaurant and karaoke-ing from 1-4 AM.
10. I fed monkeys at a park after hiking up 160 m in Kyoto, Japan.
11. I felt the strong winds with my brother and mom at the observation deck of the CN tower in Toronto.
12. In Madrid, I partied at Teatro Kapital, a 7-story club inside a historic theater.
13. I went inside and up one of the main towers of La Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
14. Even though I don't watch Game of Thrones, I checked out King's Landing in Girona, Spain.
15. My family, now-fiancée, and I traversed all-over Ireland (Dublin, Galway, Dingle, and Kinsale) in 8 days, including stops at the Cliffs of Moher and the Blarney Stone castle.
16. My fiancée and I joined the throng of people at the Arc di Triomphe that celebrated France getting to the 2018 FIFA World Cup Final, celebrated Bastille Day with the masses and the French Symphony Orchestra playing Danse Bacchanale at the Eiffel Tower before nighttime fireworks, and excitedly watch France win the cup at CDG airport (the quietest the airport has ever been.)
17. My fiancée and I swam in the clearest of blue waters at Playa Delfin in Cancun, Mexico.
