ABOUT ME

I'm a highly energetic person who loves meeting new people, exploring new places, and embracing unique experiences. I'm lighthearted, funny [or so I'm told], modest [see previous bracket], and enjoy parenthetical phrases [see previous two brackets].

PHILOSOPHY

I believe the world is full of gems if you keep your mind open and dig around a bit. I like to dig around a lot when I can.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted a number of people in DC, including getting to return the favor to my host when I was in Norway! I take people around SF. And I join then in their home cities or while we're both it in the world.

Interests

I love music. Live music is always welcome in my life, and when unavailable I go to my records [Not for antiquity, but quality {I'm a bit of an audiophile}].

Climbing, hiking and parkour are all ways I love using my energy and feeling ALIVE. Dancing too. I do fire dancing with rope dart and poi. Music + motion + people = superb. Also, boards: skateboard, snowboard, longboard, wakeboard - anything with a board.

And for a "calmer" time: philosophical/intellectual conversation. I am always good for an interesting debate or thought experiment. I love playing devil's advocate.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love music of all kinds- anything that makes me think or feel. My favorites are metal, jazz, experimental and ska... but every genre has something to contribute. The trumpet is the best sounding instrument ever.

I don't watch many movies, but when I do the more thought provoking the better. Memento and Primer are two favorites.

I enjoy reading, especially science fiction. The Hitchhikers guide to the Galaxy is my favorite series, as it's thought provoking and has me giggling the whole time I read it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Fire Dance, Emotional Intelligence, Tea Ceremony. And a fantastic magic trick with a dollar bill.

Learn: Anything. I love learning about new things, whether their my forte or not. Teach me about your hobby, especially if it's something I can try out too!

Share: I have grown a love for Gungfu Tea Ceremony and would love to share this connective experience with you. I have some superb teas I'd love to drink as we talk about everything.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a fire performer, and I'd love to perform for my hosts if there's the space for it and I've managed to find the right fuel in your country. I also host Gungfu inspired tea ceremonies, and would love to share my incredible teas with you in this style as we talk about everything.
