About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I’ve just spent the past 5 years primarily in Melbourne, Australia, where I also saw much of the country by caravan, it was brilliant! I’ve now packed up my entire life into a storage pod and find myself traveling the US again, trying to explore all the states I haven’t been to before, primarily being Colorado, Utah, Arizona and New Mexico ☺️

October 2017 “about me”
I've settled down in Melbourne, after spending the past 4ish years (3 years on March 10!) on the road. I work from home, so I'm still always up for a good adventures and to try new things! Since I couchsurfed so much throughout my travels, I now want to return the favour, for everyone who had helped me out along the way.

Important things to know if you send me a request. I do not accept host requests if you’re relocating to Melbourne and looking for a place to get on your feet, I’m sorry but it is just too high risk. I host travellers who are arriving and departing on specific dates.

April 2017 "About Me"
I am currently on a road trip, driving the entire perimeter of the United States border! This is a documentary trip, in an effort to show the world the kindness of the every-day American citizen in a time where he world isn't seeing much of that anymore. Think "Kindness Diaries meets Craigslist Joe" ☺ except instead I'm a female traveler. This trip has me departing from Toronto, driving to Maine to Florida to California to Washington then back across the northern states home to Toronto. This will be just about a 4 month trip, relying entirely on the kindness and generosity of Americans. Anyone who can help me out with accommodations along the way would be hugely appreciated! ❤

2015 "About Me":

I'm currently on an around-the-world trip, which started on March 14, 2015. The trip so far has seen me traveling through the Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, South Africa, Tanzania, Egypt, India, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, and everything else now is kind of on a whim :) I've been traveling through the States now, having spent a good chunk of time in New York, California, Washington and Vancouver (yes yes, that last one isn't American lol). Im hoping to connect with as many locals as we can, to really appreciate each place, not just experience the tourist facade!

ABOUT ME

Travelling the world, multiple countries at a time. I have a passion for life and want to see the entire world, learn about all of its people, and constantly learn and absorb the best parts of all cultures. If you send me a request, please include a song lyric from your favourite song (lol) just so I know you read my profile.

PHILOSOPHY

You only regret the things you didn't do :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm very fortunate that everywhere I've been has always been a positive experience and strive to contribute to that as much as possible. As much as I like to go out, I also like to see small niches of culture that I wouldn't normally encounter on my own. I love other cultures and experiences I wouldn't have at home.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've stayed at a ton of places from couch surfing now and thankfully they were all amazing experiences, and hosted a few surfers as well, also great experiences. I love the travellers bond, sharing stories and experiences from around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When in Ireland in April 2010, Eyjafjallajökull, the volcano in Iceland erupted. This experience of literally being both stuck and stranded while abroad is something I'll never forget, and the feeling of having to just live day by day with no plan was a learning experience that will benefit me for the rest of my life. My biggest dream right now is to visit Iceland, the country that changed my life.

Also, this isn't an amazing thing I've done per se, but during my time in Egypt I woke up to the building coming down on me, as ISIS detonated a massive car bomb right where I was staying (July 2015, the Italian Consulate was the target). This experience has also changed my perspective on life, it's fragility, and how we can never not do something because of what 'could' happen. Since the 'what could' happen actually happened to me, I came through it a better person, and now I approach every situation that way.
