About Me

I am SCUBA certified. I am a licensed pilot. I am a certified EMT. I am a member of Search and Rescue. When I am not doing something for others I am usually found hiking or fishing. I love helping people and seeing the joy from someone who experiences something new for the first time. Like a first flight or being saved from a major accident. Life is full of reward as long as you are willing to work for it.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people and seeing the world through their eyes. It is fascinating to learn of culture and experience while creating friendships. People are far too amazing to let sleep on the side of a road so why not let them in and enjoy their life story! I would hope someone would look at me the same way.

Interests

I am interested in meeting new people while seeing the world. And when I can't travel myself I love learning about the travels others are on as to live vicariously through them. I also love learning in all fields. Knowledge is power.

Music, Movies, and Books

The last book I read was "Crucial Conversations" and that was really good. the one before that was "The power of habit: why we do what we do in life and business". Both of those are possibly my favorites for the moment until I read another one.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Ran a marathon in 4:08:00 :) That was pretty amazing for me because I didn't train for it. Meaning, the longest run I did prior to the actual marathon was 4.5 miles. I had intended to run a five mile loop but walked the last .5 miles. But when I put my mind to something I typically stick to it. So I finished the marathon with the most painful aching body I have ever had but the most intense amount of joy and satisfaction for completing a goal I set!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Positivity. Life is full of excitement and positivity if you are willing to look for it. I can share laughter which has a much longer lasting effect than any medication on the market today. I would hope that you could share a little laughter with me as well! :)
