About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My mission is being driven by the desire my wife and I have to live our lives with purpose. We focus on our local community of friends and family as a base. Travel is important, as is living outside the "box".

ABOUT ME

My friends would say I have a warped sense of humor. They may also say that I am a good listener, motivated, fun to be with and some have said I am a good teacher - even though I've never taught.

PHILOSOPHY

Living on a boat will teach many lessons. Lesson number one always have a plan B. Be where you are, and enjoy that journey. And finally, things always work out the way they are supposed to.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am looking forward to couchsurfing, I've not done it yet. After high school I did travel with a friend by car from Calif., to NY and back. Once, our car broke down in Bowling Green KY. We rented a cave from an 80 year old farmer. This was early 70's, we had long hair and talked with a Calif. accent. Our 80 year old host ended up in a fist fight with his son over us. There is alot more to this story.

Interests

Talking with other people and listening to their stories. I also like to stay busy, biking, working in the garden, working. The job I have keeps me very busy creating videos, writing, being involved with social media...some of it is not so fun, but all of it is interesting.

Music, Movies, and Books

We have recently seen the documentary "Buck". This man came from a very abusive home life, was rescued and placed with a foster family that he came to cherish. He ends up being and truly wonderful person working through horses.
My music I'm afraid dates me. I enjoyed rock from the 60's and early 70's, and lots of blues.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My wife and I lived aboard our 32 foot sailboat "Soul Dance" in the Caribbean for 8 years. I remember one night at sea during a passage from St Croix USVI to Grenada, hand steering our boat with a full moon and sailing up and down 12 foot waves. There had been rough weather earlier that night but the winds dropped to 12 knots, yet the seas were still high. I can still feel the motion of climbing each wave and surfing down the other side. My wife was below sleeping and it was only me and the experiance.

Teach, Learn, Share

Things I can teach: Sailing, selling, the art of listening, telling stories.

Things I would like to learn: how to use social media more effectively, be a better videographer, to play the blues on a quitar.
