I was born in Melbourne and have lived here for most of my life, except for a couple of stints in England and South America.

Being fortunate enough to travel regularly in my adult life, apart from opening my eyes to the world, this has also given me a richer appreciation of my own city. If I can't host you I'd still love to meet you and show you around.

I see nation borders as arbitrary lines on a colonial map; I am a human first and any other classification comes secondary. I intend to travel more and more in the future, meet my fellow humans and see what are doing.

I also love history and I tend to prioritise locations which have ancient human-constructed buildings.

Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin

I travelled around Europe staying in backpacker hostels, hanging out with other tourists and having a great time discovering new places. I met a bunch of people that were using CS and said that it was heaps better than staying in hostels. Why? Because you can see the city through the eyes of a local. Exploring with other tourists is fun, but you end up eating tourist food and going to tourist bars. A local has all the knowledge of the city and can show the real secret gems that lie beneath the surface.

Conocia personas que estaban usando CS y dijeron que fue mucho mejor que quedarse en hostales. Por que? Porque puedes ver la ciudad por los ojos de un local. Explorar con otras turistas es bueno, pero come comida turistica y sale a las bares turisticas. Una persona local tiene conocimiento de la ciudad y puede mostrar los secretos de la ciudad.

Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe

I was visiting Egypt in 2011 when their revolution (Arab spring) first erupted. Great views of clashes between demonstrators and police/military, however it got too dangerous and I had to get an emergency flight out!
