About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to seek out adventure where ever it may lie

ABOUT ME

Adventurer
- multi-week cyclist, sky diver, skeleton sliding, visiting new cities

Engaged to a wonderful woman named Jeanni. She speaks French and Italian as well.

PHILOSOPHY

Life it worth living, not just progressing through waiting for something to rescue you.
Dreams are meant to be fulfilled. Find yours and find a way to make it happen.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

For the most part, I am hosting, but periodically I get to go an adventure and I prefer to meet a new person instead of isolating myself in a hotel.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Most of my couch surfing experience is with friends. It has always been a lot of fun, and I look forward to making new friends. I have stayed with several people through warmshowers.org (a cycling network for people traveling by bicycle) though.
We have had great experiences hosting other couchsurfers in our home.

Interests

cycling, adventuring, sky diving, relaxing, reading, meeting new people and hearing about their adventures/ take on life/experiences, photography, geocaching, skeleton (the sport one not the biology one).

Music, Movies, and Books

I love movies with a grand plan and watching it unfold (and change as life injects itself).
I loved the Game of Thrones series, Ken Follet, Dan Brown
Also loved:
- The 100-Year-Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window And Disappeared
- Four Hour Work Week
- Abundance : the future is better than you think
- The Hard Thing about Hard Things
- The Martian
Currently reading "Here's looking at Euclid"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- cycled from Victoria to Winnipeg in 2012
- cycled from Winnipeg to Montreal in 2013.
- cycled from Montreal to St. John's, NL in 2014
- Started solo sky diving
- Visiting the Kennedy Space centre (including the launch pad, Vehicle assembly building and launch control centre)
- Went skeleton sliding at the Whistler Sliding Centre
- Watched my friend compete on Jeopardy

Teach, Learn, Share

Cycling across Canada is easier if you know the following:
- warmshowers.com if an amazing support site
- tortillas, peanut butter and nutella can be found in every town. they are your friend!
- taking the path untraveled is a wonderful way to experience Canada, unless you are on a tight schedule. then it is better to take the main roads
- cycling with someone is easier than solo: financially, physically and emotionally.

Don't listen to the people that ask, "why would you jump from a perfectly good airplane?"

Find someone to spend your life with that makes you smile. find somewhere to work that gets you out of bed in the morning with a jump in your step. don't let anyone tell you that you can't achieve your dream. get out there and make it happen.

What I Can Share with Hosts

a warm smile, adventure stories to trade, a good conversation (I love listening to other people's opinions of the world around them)

Countries I’ve Visited

Cuba, Dominican Republic, Mexico, South Korea, United States
