About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Live, work and travel out of my comfort zone for 12 months.
ABOUT ME
Well, me personally I am a teacher of Information Technology and Business. Before that I worked as an IT technician. I coach and play hockey and like all things sporty. I'm currently studying Indonesian back in Australia (also took a year off that). I live in a down called Drouin back home in Victoria Australia. I own two dogs that I had to leave to go traveling in Europe(they are living with my parents atm) I have traveled for small amounts of time 30 days - to Indonesia, NZ, and Fiji which were fun, but not enough time to really appreciate and live life being away from our daily routine. I moved to Holland this year for a year with the goal of traveling around Europe and meeting people from different counties. I believe that it is all about experiences, and who you meet is mainly a part of that.
PHILOSOPHY
Be organised, but be prepared for some random spontaneity.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Hosted a few times in Holland, but hoping that when I get home to Australia - the holidaying doesn't stop, by having people visit me! Currently traveling Europe and meeting a plethora of lovely new people through CS! For me couchsurfing is not a free place to crash, it is about learning and experiencing the culture, food, and how things function behind what tourists see.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have hosted a few people in Holland so far, but most of my experiences have been surfing so far - and have loved it. From sailing in northern holland, to dancing in Brussels to hiking in the Pyrenees - I am yet to have a bad experience with couchsurfing. I love the idea. I even got a phone call when we were wet, cold and in trouble in Norway!
Interests
Sport - anything related (play hockey, tennis, soccer(football) and cricket. But I will watch and enjoy all sports.
I enjoy chatting about all kinds of things - politics, environment, climate change (or is it?), animals, religion. Can talk about most things :)

Music, Movies, and Books
I do enjoy the odd blockbuster movie - but only as an "easy watch" - documentaries and books also are things I read/watch a lot when traveling. Shawshank Redemption ,Fight Club, Seven, Happy Gilmore, Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Documentaries, there is so so so many more to add...
Music - hard one, I'm not the one that will go to a rock concert - although I could be swayed, but I listen to a huge range of music, books - not crime novels - most other books.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The most amazing thing that I have done, well it's hard to say, but I would say that hiking up gunung agung in Bali at 3am to a magnificent sunrise would be close. Also a run around a mirrored lake in Slovenia at 6am (mountains surrounding it, reflection of the trees, so quiet except for my footsteps and the occasional bird chirp.
Teach, Learn, Share
well - this is kinda hard, I have a degree in computing so I could help someone fix their computer, juggling 3 balls? (if you know how to juggle 4 or 5 please teach me!) How to cook mushroom risotto?
