Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Crossing off things on my Bucket List.
ABOUT ME
I think that most of them would talk about my sense of humor (i.e. Simpsons or Seinfeld references) but a few close friends might say that I'm a thoughtful person who helps others whenever he can.
PHILOSOPHY
"The more you Live, the less you Die."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm in the process of becoming a verified member. So far it looks to be the best $25 I've ever spent.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
None! But wanting to change that, both as a host as well as a guest.
Interests
I'm a voracious reader, focusing on Stephen King but the past year I've gotten into yoga & road cycling. Since starting in February I've recently passed the 1,000 mile mark. My goal this Summer is to do a Century (100 mile) ride.
I'm also into social/charitable causes, once raising over two-thousand dollars for the Search Dog Foundation & a similar amount for Oceana's Gulf Coast relief efforts.
I reduce/reuse/recycle like its a job.
I rescued 2 cats & a lovable Dalmatian-Whippet mix.
And I'd stop almost anything to play a game of Euchre.
Music, Movies, and Books
Blade Runner, Solaris, Legend
Coldplay, Sting, Moby
Dark Tower series, Duma Key, Under The Dome
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
1) seeing Sea Turtles (ala Crush from Finding Nemo) in Hawaii
2) feeling a shivering hug of a longtime love
3) the serendipity when a writing idea comes together perfectly
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm a good active listener in that I don't just follow along but engage throughout so there is an actual conversation.
I earned the rank of Eagle Scout, so I try to always "Be Prepared."
I also give excellent advice.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A few great beers enjoyed over a few great boardgames, finishing off with brownies.
