About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Enjoy Berlin, have exciting times

ABOUT ME

I am a thirty something living in Berlin and Teaching english to children to pay the bills. I love teaching, just spending time with little people who have no crap clogging up their minds is good for the soul. I also can't get enough exercise right now, usually in the form of football or basketball - just for fun of course! I have a baby daughter, she just arrived this year and me and my wife (Shanghai lil) are ever so proud of her! Now all I need to do to fulfill my life is build a reprap!

PHILOSOPHY

I hate any sentence starting "My personal Philosophy is..." but thats not enough to put in this box. I think when you die its just like it was before you were born. I think the point of a human being alive is reproduction and this alone gives true meaning to human life. Pursuit of knowledge - scientific, personal experiential and moral - is of value in itself. Really though its all about 'the banter' - to have banter is what gives life its spice, vivacity and makes it generally enjoyable, keep making as many people laugh as possible, keep living and loving.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet people from all over the world and I have done a lot of this already but I know there are plenty more of you out there!! Whether I play the part of host or surfer I think this whole project is pretty damn cool. I've spontaneously done it a fair bit - I quite like showing up in foreign lands with nowhere to stay - and its good that we have the net now to facilitate such exciting experiences reaching a wider audience in as safe and healthy an environment as possible.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I lived on my friends couch in Glasgow for three months when I worked in the Garage Nightclub as the most electrifying man in glass collecting of my time and used to walk 4 miles to and from work each night. Boy was that couch nice. One of those leather chesterfield things you know, very antique.

I also lived on my pal Stu's couch in Vancouver for 3 months a coupla years back.

Also lived on our friends couch here in Berlin for a few weeks before we found our current place.

Climbed Mount Olympus in a pair of flipflops (thongs). God, I know how Zeus felt - me and Bob had a game of chess. Dionysus must have felt pretty good too - we smoked a little something something too...

Teach, Learn, Share

You know when people say X is the best invention since the wheel? Well aside from the fact that the wheel was never really invented (tumbleweed), the Wheelchair is far superior. Think of the massive transformation in the lives of those unable to walk for one reason or another - and besides they're just so much fun! Come and learn some reprap!
