Music, Movies, and Books

Music? I like lots of different music, of course, just like everyone else. When I was in high school, I listened to punk rock and movie soundtracks. Then I started listening to my local hard rock station. Sometimes I just feel like listening to Vivaldi. These days I like to find songs I enjoy and put them in a big Spotify playlist.

I read mostly nonfiction books that explain the world. A Human Zoo, Seeing Like A State, Way of the Superior Man, Guide to the American Class System. I'm also interested in the perspectives of people like Raymond Peat, Jay Dyer, Atom Bergstrom, Anastasia of Seven Ringing Cedars. Recently, I've been reading more fiction. I like Dennis Wheatley.

Some of my favorite movies: Event Horizon, The Best Offer, Interstellar, The Prestige, Casino Royale, The Ninth Gate, Grand Budapest Hotel, House of Flying Daggers. Directors I'm interested in: Christopher Nolan, Chan-wook Park, Roman Polanski.
