About Me

PLEASE READ ALL OF THE FOLLOWING BEFORE REQUESTING TO STAY WITH US. THANKS!

My wife, Amelia and I live with our three young children, Genavive (born Dec 6, 2011), Galvin (born Nov 17, 2013) and Sylvan (born August 25th, 2016), deep in the wilderness of northern Minnesota. We are an off-grid homestead and we hope to someday grow, hunt and harvest most of our food. We're happy to host visitors who enjoy the great outdoors and are comfortable in a primitive camping setting.

More information on our website http://www.ic.org/directory/long-haul/

PLEASE CHECK OUT THE ABOVE WEBSITE BEFORE CONTACTING US! We update that website much more often than this one.

We welcome adventurous visitors, but we gotta warn you it's a big adventure to get to our homestead! We live two miles up a rutted old logging road that is impassible for normal cars. As long as ya'll are up for the hike, we'd probably be happy to have ya! You can park at the bottom of our road and it's about a 45 minute hike up to our homestead. Here is a video of our modest accomodations

We also don't have running water so no shower etc. We do catch rainwater for washing though and we have an outdoor rainwater sink. We have an outhouse and off-grid (limited) electricity. We cook and heat exclusively with wood.

If you want to have dinner with us try to be here by 6pm and bring some food to share.

Contact us for directions.

Looking for ward to meeting adventurous folks!
