About Me

I enjoy immersing myself into a diversification of avocations. I am a horticulturalist, pianist, former figure skater, yogi, and Zumba instructor. I am equally inspired by all of the subjects and occupations on the spectrum whether in the world of academia and intellectuals, of music and artists, of commerce and investors, and of literature and writers. As well-rounded as I attempt to be, I will always be on a mission to become more cultured and worldly. "To know that you don't know" is a relevant quote, as it demonstrates that the more we learn and the more knowledge we gain, the more we realize how much we have to learn and how much more knowledge there is that exists beyond us. Delving into other philosophies and ways of life is a key method to expanding our frame of reference. As we perceive, discover, and grasp other cultures our views of the world evolve and we become a better version of ourselves and less judgmental of others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling helps broaden the horizons and creates a vaster perception and understanding of the world in which we live. The reality is that we have such a short amount of time here, and I just want to take advantage of everything that life has to offer. It's all there, one just has to be audacious and ambitious enough to hustle after what he wants. I think that this platform is magnificent because it connects people from variant backgrounds and heritages.

Music, Movies, and Books

Romantic-period (e.g. Rachmaninoff/Liszt/Chopin) and Classical music. I can find joy in a plethora of music including Latin, Middle Eastern, Oriental, and American pop-culture. When I’m not reading or writing, I take myself back in time and play piano.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Wrote and published an award-winning novel, a thriller in the historical fiction genre.

Teach, Learn, Share

Everyone that comes into our life is guided there, be it for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Lamentably many lead small lives; many of us die at 20 and are buried at 80. I'm a believer that nothing can stop a person who refuses to be stopped. The only time we fail is if we give up trying. I think most of the limitations that hold us back from our dreams are self-imposed. If we are not pursuing our dreams, we are fueling our limitations. Hence, the real secret to a life of abundance is to stop spending our days searching for security and to start spending our time pursuing opportunity. Sure, we will meet with our share of failures if we start living more deliberately and passionately. But failure is nothing more than learning how to win. It's risky out on a limb; but that's where all the fruit is.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Language, music, and philosophy. One of the prevailing tenets of life is that we cannot choose the family we are born into, but we can choose the family we want to be with. Engaging in social interaction and building relationships is what elongates our lives more than anything else in this world. It has been shown in independent studies by prestigious universities that those living alone with a solitary lifestyle are at a grave disadvantage relative to their more socially-involved counterparts. I do hope most will one day realize that a fulfilling life comes not from the accumulation of material wealth, but from the relationships you develop with friends, relatives (if applicable), and your community. Enough medical research has been conducted confirming this notion including the famous and longest Harvard human study (spanning 75 years) on adult development begun in 1938.
