About Me

I guess you could consider me partially Swiss and partially American. Both my parents are American and I am currently attending a university as well as living in Ohio, however, I was born in a small suburban mountain town not 30 minutes away from central Geneva and I've spent the vast majority of my life living surrounded by those mountains as well as Le Lac Leman. Although I'm only 19 I have traveled quite a bit. Living in Switzerland has allowed me to see much of Europe. Additionally, my American citizenship and parents meant that many of my summers throughout my childhood ended up being spent in America, usually with my cousins and grandparents outside of Philadelphia. Finally, because of my dad's position at a branch organization of the UN, I was often presented with the opportunity to accompany him on trips to vastly far away lands including, China, Indonesia and Thailand

Philosophy:

-Take what you need, give what you can
-Never stop trying to learn more about yourself and the world around you

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm someone who loves traveling and meeting new people but doesn't have a lot money.

Interests

I am really interested in film, I'm probably going to be a cinema studies major. I especially love the works of Fellini, Kieslowski, Kubrick and Tarantino. I'm also really interested in Philosophy and can talk about it for hours, same can be said for politics. Physics is also another topic I'm super interested in but my understanding of it isn't immense.

Music, Movies, and Books

I pretty much like all types of music. I'm really into folk; I especially love Bob Dylan and Sufjan Stevens (if you can consider him folk.) I also really like the non-mainstream dubstep artists, particularly Apashe, Nicholas Jaar and Griz. As for movies, Apocalypse Now is probably my favorite film of all time but I've also been really into Kieslowski films recently, particularly three colors: blue. I'm also obsessed with Kubrick films. I have an extremely long list of favorite books. I love dystopian novels such as 1984 (and pretty much anything by Orwell) and The Road. I'm also really into Milan Kundera and Jack Kerouac
