I'm 57, active, health conscious and love both the city and the country. I have two polite informed and conscientious children whom I am pleased to say are making it in the world by there own esteem.
I live in and very much appreciate my city, Kansas City and have lived in four other states.

The positive Couchsurfing experiences of some friends, my willingness to be adventurous and my knowing that some of the best experiences are recommendations by a local.

Interests

My main interest when traveling is to get a good feel for the vibe of a region and to make efforts to experience something that generally is known only among the locals. That is one of main appeals to couch surfing.

Music, Movies, and Books

April 25th I went to a special showing of Purple Rain. In May I have tickets for Florence and the Machine and last month I took my niece to see 2Cellos. If you don't know who that is, YouTube it, you may well be surprised.
Regarding movies, I most enjoy suspense however, last year had a lot of fun with Guardians of the Galaxy. I've had a Health Challenge or two in my time so my heart really went out to Leonardo DiCaprio in The Revenent, as he certainly did have a "bad" day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked a valley to experience Natural Bridges in California, which I never would have known about had it not been for a locals excellent recommendation.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I consider myself a good conversationalist a good listener and someone with an ear for details. I generally have something positive to add to a conversation yet I'm not interested in persuading.
