Music, Movies, and Books
Music
I have a diverse taste in music and enjoy exploring different genres from around the world. Some of my favorites include:
Rwandan Traditional Music: I love the rhythms and melodies of traditional Rwandan songs, especially those played during cultural ceremonies and festivals.
Afrobeat: Artists like Burna Boy and Wizkid bring a vibrant energy that I can't get enough of.
Jazz and Blues: The soulful sounds of artists like Miles Davis and Etta James provide the perfect backdrop for relaxing evenings.
World Music: I enjoy discovering music from different cultures, from Latin American salsa to Indian classical music.
Movies
I’m a big fan of movies that tell compelling stories and offer a glimpse into different cultures and perspectives. Some of my favorites are:
Inception: Christopher Nolan's mind-bending thriller that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
The Lion King: A timeless animated classic that combines beautiful storytelling with unforgettable music.
Amélie: A charming French film that showcases the magic of everyday life in Paris.
Marvel Cinematic Universe: I enjoy the action-packed and interconnected stories of the Marvel superhero films.
Books
Books are a window into different worlds, and I enjoy reading a variety of genres. Some of my favorite books include:
"Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe: A poignant and powerful novel about African society and the impacts of colonialism.
"The Alchemist" by Paulo Coelho: An inspiring tale about following your dreams and listening to your heart.
"Half of a Yellow Sun" by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie: A compelling story set during the Nigerian Civil War, highlighting personal and political struggles.
"1984" by George Orwell: A thought-provoking dystopian novel that explores themes of freedom and oppression.
"Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind" by Yuval Noah Harari: An insightful and engaging exploration of the history of our species.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One amazing experience I’ve had was hiking to the summit of Mount Karisimbi, the highest volcano in the Virunga Mountains. The trek was challenging but incredibly rewarding, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. Standing at the peak and looking out over the clouds was a moment of pure awe and accomplishment. It was an unforgettable adventure that deepened my appreciation for nature and the beauty of Rwanda.
