My name is Steven Prezioso, I grew up in a small town in New Jersey (USA), but have been on multiple road trips around the USA (30+ states, working on all 50!), and on a few overseas trips. Currently, I am traveling in Southeast Asia (Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia and possibly a few others)

My passion for experiencing new cultures and places is never ending, and I love to meet new people! I believe that submerging yourself in a new atmosphere is one of the healthiest and productive ways to grow and thrive as a human being.

My hobbies are ever expanding. However, a few of the things I like to do most in my free time are skateboarding, surfing, playing guitar (I’m a total novice), hiking and running. All of these things bring together a beautiful sense of community that is unparalleled in my heart. I dare you to add to my list of favorite things :)

I grew up in a family where hard work is a common phrase, so a little elbow grease is always a pleasure to me. Professionally, I am an engineer, which has taught me all sorts of problem solving, computer, budgeting, and analytical skills that I would love to put to work if you're ever in need of a technically savvy mind! In addition, I have acquired some handy skills in carpentry, landscaping, and I have no problem with heavy lifting.

I conjured up an idea with a good friend of mine to go explore the United States via car camping! We traveled down the east coast visiting friends along the way, and spent a few months in Texas traveling the stretch of the state. We dove into the likes of Santa Fe, San diego, Denver, and many many many more. Portland is now where I rest my head.

I'm always down to grab a beer and swap stories.

Music: I'm pretty open minded to anything. But I like a lot of alternative and a lot of 90s hip hop/rap. Been getting more into the mood-setting indie and fall back on mood-lifting ska.

Books: KAFKA ON THE SHORE, Fahrenheit 451, One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Game of Thrones (A Song of Ice and Fire series, hard to say but I think A Storm of Swords is my favorite), I love reading classics but I am open to new recommendations.

Movies: Inception, Coffee and Cigarettes, Clerks, A Bronx Tale, Lock Stock & Two Smoking Barrels, V for Vendetta, just a few

I went surfing in Byron Bay, New South Wales (Australia) where there were dolphins catching waves ten times faster than the surfers! Being in the water with them and just being one with nature at that moment made me feel blessed to be alive.

I'm currently learning Mandarin Chinese (Traditional Characters) via computer software and through a native speaking friend. My traveling buddy is fluent in Spanish, so I'm also learning that a bit more informally than Mandarin. Either way, I would love to have (or try to have) conversations with fluent speakers and learn more about native culture on the road!

I am a Math and Science tutor, so if you as a host have children or are taking a class yourself that you need help in, I would be happy to give you some instruction. I am also technologically saavy in terms of home and portable electronics type of stuff.
