About Me

Having recently graduated from University, I am now on the big 'post-studies-travelling-the-world' trip. Across my projected two year stay in Australia, I plan to use the country as a base to work and save in to allow myself the ability to travel around Asia for short spells every two to three months. I graduated in Creative Writing with hopes of managing to get into travel writing in some way, so you could almost call it work experience... which is great as its also my biggest passion. I hate to spout the general clichés, but I can really say that I'm a very polite and easy-going guy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

As I'm away from home, unless I settle in any form of permanent accommodation, I'm not here to advertise a place for people to come and stay. I'm mostly on Couchsurfing off the back of endless great reviews I've had from other travellers who use the service and say its a great way to experience new places, as hosts are generally likeminded and interested in travelling and always ready to offer advice regarding what to do in their city - which I also believe to be the best way to REALLY see a place (off of personal recommendations) as I've had countless bad experiences from solely relying on guidebooks.

Interests

As you can probably tell, travelling is one of my greatest interests, however alongside it I'm also very into my music (listening, performing, producing etc) and I love to read and write too.

Music, Movies, and Books

I've drifted away from movies in recent years to some extent, however I would say that I am generally drawn to cult classics. As for music, its thoroughly dependant on my mood - whilst relaxing, I listen to a lot of reggae/dub, hip hop and some mild indie/rock music and jazz, but whilst partying, I'm a lot more drawn to the heavier side of house, techno and many other forms of electronic music.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I spent four days alone making our way around an enormous loop in Central Laos on motorbikes, with only a rough map to help us through some of the deepest, most rural parts of the country. I could write thousands upon thousands of words on the subject, so I'd rather tell you in person.

Teach, Learn, Share

Travelling experiences and different genres and artists of music generally seem to be my forte.

What I Can Share with Hosts

As I mentioned before, as clichéd as it always sounds, I'm a very polite, friendly and easy-going guy. Being British I'm obviously terrified of causing offence, so I'm always very clean and tidy when in other people's homes and very aware of my behaviour when there are certain rules to be followed. Beside that, I consider myself to be a pretty fun guy who's always up for going out and exploring new places with new people.
