About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finding my energy

ABOUT ME

Sometimes I still wonder if I'm still a 6y old, based on my over-enthousiasm at times. I'm very fond of life and I'm really trying to live it. Not in a Richard Branson-kind-of-way but there are other ways I think :) I try to get the most out of the things I do: I love talking to people from all over the world, lose myself to music, discover a new bar, enjoy the richness of food and drinks, get too much into my work, I have a craving for travelling without thinking but it deos not always turn out that way (maybe that is for the best).

I enjoy setting up and going to all kinds of events with my friends, whether its a picnic, an evening gig or a roadtrip doesn't matter. I'm a type of person who likes to be around people and observe them.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to meet up with the locals and surfers. I also love to organise events. Whether its a game of pool, a food event (yes please! food fan!), a movie, a theme night, a coffee, whatever :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

you know, you live by good experience so and CS is one of those. It's amazing to get in touch with so many different people.
When I previously lived in Brugge I hosted quite a lot of people and I found it great to get into all kinds of adventures with them.
I traveled a little bit through southeast asia in 2014 and spend a lot of my time with ppl from couchsurfing, it reaaaally added to the experience :)

Interests

I like to do all kinds of sports, although I've never fully went through with one.

I like watching movies that make you think, documentaries, as well as lay-back movies.

5years ago or so I got listen to a track from blues artist Taj Mahal and since than I started realising I really enjoy listening to the older tunes :) It started of with blues and slowly I also got interested in swing, soul, classic rock. I'd also love to learn to dance swing, rock 'n roll or lindy hop.
Hence I also like artist who try to bring back that old sound. But actually I also like balkan music, some metal, jazz and some elektro.

I also like catching gigs in a bar or concerthall, and sometimes a festival.

And, oh, food! Though I'm not really a cook (I can, but nothing special, I think) I just really love eating and trying out new food, cooking in group.

and, well, yea, travelling of course :)

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a fan of Kitty, Daisy & Lewis, Mayer Hawthorn, Melissa Laveaux, Norah Jones, Project 86, In Flames, Ben Harper, Intergalactic Lovers, Sean Hayes, Balkan Beat Box, The King Khan & BBQ Show, Frank Sinatra, CCR,
BRMC, Koop, Gary Clark Jr.

If I had to name favourites I'd say 'Goodnight, and Good Luck', The Cove, O Brother Where Are Thou, The Man From Earth, all of Star Wars, all of Indiana Jones, GoodFellas, District 9, Babel, Die Hards!, ...

Currently I'm reading the Game of Thrones books. They're actually as good as the hbo series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Taste so many different foods, love my 2 little nieces, buying a flat in brugge, doing pretty alright in my job, travelling by myself in southeast asia

Teach, Learn, Share

I took a couple of capoeira classes and I liked it actually. So if you know capoeira, I'm all eyes.

I'd like to improve my french

I wanna participate in the Budapest-Bamako amateur african rally!! Although this is not something you can learn (well, atleast not while surfing ... I guess) it would be so cool to find someone to do this with.
