Overview
About Me
I grew up in Ghent, Belgium and studied Applied informatics at the University of Ghent.
I'm running a design agency with focus on architectural photography, 3d visualizations & graphic design for architects, interior magazines and construction companies.
I consider myself as an open minded, calm and sociable person and I like to treat everyone equally and respectfully. I enjoy deep conversations and connections. I like passionate, creative and ambitious people who laugh easily and I'm perfectly fine with silence too. I love traveling (duuuh... ), good food, wine, psychology, nature and sunsets.
I live in the city center of Ghent, Belgium.
Despite being one of Belgium's oldest cities, Ghent remains small enough to feel cosy but big enough to be a vibrant centre for culture. Ghent offers a great mix of modern and medieval architecture. The city is host to some big cultural events such as the Gentse Feesten, I Love Techno, "10 Days Off" musical festival, Flanders International Film Festival and much, much more... and as with most Belgian cities, Ghent offers a rich variety of local and foreign cuisine and numerous bars. Let's go on a hunt for waffles, fries, chocolate, and Belgian beer!
Looking forward to meet you! Steven ;-)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've travelled many countries in various ways. From luxury resorts and boutique hotels to low-budget backpacking for 6 months through South-East Asia and India. Do I like luxury? Hell yeah, sometimes I do... but what I like the most about traveling is the up-close view into local culture and history and that is exactly what you get when meeting locals and joining a travel community such as CS.

What I Can Share with Hosts
1. Being compassionate, friendly, and helpful is easy and such a great thing to do.
2. I'd like to show you around in Ghent and discover it's most authentic (some very unknown) places, introduce you to our Belgian beers and chocolates ;-)
3. I don't expect anything in return unless being respectful.
4. I can offer a comfortable place to sleep in the middle of the historical city centre.
5. Open to any kind of conversation / point of view.
