All my life, what I truly want is to travel. I've heard from books and watched TV shows of other cultures and countries and found out that this world is so much more than meets the eye. And so, my wanderlust expands.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

"You don't need to travel young . . . Just wait until you're older, more mature, have more money, then you can travel with your wife and children everywhere," said most people I've met.

But that is not travel. That, is tourism. Can you differentiate them?

Tourism is an escape from everything that makes life hard. Traveling is an ode to embrace them. Traveling is like art. It expands your knowledge of the world and how you fit in it. Tourism is merely sightseeing--no different than what you do at the mall.

I wanted to join couchsurfing to find out more about the cultures and wayfindings of other countries, but not through the eyes of a tourists. I want to know what the natives think. I want to now what makes them tick; what makes them get up in the morning full of passion and zeal, or the other way around.
