Overview
About Me
My name is Steven Junil Park. I was born in Korea but my family moved to New Zealand when I was six months old. I studied fine arts in Auckland but ended up becoming a designer, so now I spend most of my time making things and trying very hard to make a living from it. I run a label called "6x4" under which I produce one-off garments by hand as well as a few pieces of jewellery, furniture, and homeware. If you are interested, you can take a look here: 6x4online.com . I try to only wear garments that I've made.
Other than sewing and making things I like to read. I love food; I think cooking for people, drinking and eating with people are some of the best things in life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I went for a short Whirlwind trip around Toronto, Montreal and Quebec city.
I stayed with 5 different hosts and had not one negative experience.
Couchsurfing is a great way to meet people and get to know a city, it makes a place come alive and linger with warmth in ones memory.
I'm on couchsurfing because I like to meet people while I am travelling but I am not very good at introducing myself to people in . It helps make you feel less alone in a new place. Staying with strangers is like a life lottery where someone is dropped into your life (or rather you get dropped into theirs) and you get to encounter their world. It's nice having this inside view into a place where you are only passing by.
