About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Make CS an enriching element of my life, get to know new people. Offer and receive good old hospitality and kindness in a modern way

ABOUT ME

As a single daddy I live, part of the week, with my three lovely daughters in Amsterdam. Twins of 20 years and a 14 year old wonder.
In May 2012 I traveled to China (Beijing) with daughter Zara.
Twin sister Isis visited Egypt with her mother in March. 2012.
I am in love with my beautiful city of Amsterdam. I like to travel and with our daughters we visited beautiful places like Thailand, Spain, Morocco, Italy, Croatia, France, Germany and Turkey.

PHILOSOPHY

Do new&exciting things, meet people, go places, exeperience&feel, so I can enjoy, learn and grow

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I like the formula, although I'm more than twice the age of a large part of the CS-afficianados ;-) Refreshing 'real' and non-commercial. No marketing (except the pix and descriptions ;-)
As a full time working, traveling single daddy I have a busy life, so there is not much CS but I like it
I'm always willing to show people around in my Amsterdam.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Have been shown lovely Stockholm by a friendly local. Such a special way to travel. Had people from Belgium, Argentina, Portugal, Australie and US over in my house in Amsterdam and stayed with a lovely couple in Budapest and with a great guy in Prague. Enjoyed a special, private walk in Prague. So much more experience and fun than a hotel.

Interests

I'm very much interested in almost everything. I love food and (vegetarian) cooking, and I am a life time vegetarian. Museums, markets and terraces. Exploring daily life, hear stories and tell them. Try me: movies, art, politics, life

Music, Movies, and Books

There is not much I don't like... Really, from mambo to Bill Callahan, Bach, la Pegatina. And the same for art and movies. Modern art or renaissance: whatever! I have an open minds and hungry eyes

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skinny dipping in the sea at Ostia Attica (near Rome)
Fishing on my own in a small boat on a completely empty Finnish lake with cristal clear water.
Cried when confronted with the view on the Dome on a summersnight in Florence
Showed my daughters Thailand, Paris, Turkey and Morocco

Teach, Learn, Share

As a life time vegetarian, I like to cook veggie food. Although I started eating fish, to be able to have nice meals where ever I travel.

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Gibraltar, Greece, Hungary, Italy, Jordan, Kenya, Latvia, Morocco, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
