ABOUT ME

My main work involves lots of data analysis and research, but I also record audiobooks and play music on the side. I'm passionate about making the world a better place for human and non-human animals.

Some other things about me:

Outdoors ~
I love hiking and rock climbing and nature of all sorts. Landscape views from up high are probably my favorite (along with the ocean). Anything where you can see for forever. I'm also fascinated by space.

Movies and Art ~
Two of my favorite movies are Dead Poets Society and Moulin Rouge.
I also love visual art, both observing and participating. I took art classes for around 7 years, and got very into acrylic paints for a while.

I love coffee shops, writing, philosophical conversations, outdoor adventures, red wine, and hoppy beer.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far, I've had the wonderful opportunity of staying with someone right on the coast of Southern California when I was touring with my band following Warped Tour, and also with a group of college students in New Mexico when I was touring as a solo musician. Both were amazing experiences.

MUSIC
I sing and play guitar (and piano), and have toured the United States a couple times selling my CDs and playing music for people. I enjoy musicians/bands like Sufjan Stevens, Death Cab for Cutie, Dashboard Confessional, Pierce the Veil, John Mayer, Dave Matthews Band, etc.

BOOKS
One can never have too many books. Currently into the Walter Isaacson biographies and other history books.

Some of my favorites: Cloud Atlas, the His Dark Materials trilogy, LOTR, HP, philosophy texts, Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close, House of Leaves.

I've been on tour all around the United States, a new city every day, playing to hundreds of people and selling CDs outside from sunrise to sunset.

I've been to Costa Rica and France, lived out of my van for months on end, and had awesome experiences as a WWOOFer.
