Overview
About Me
My name is Steven. I recently sold my home (and nearly everything in it!) in Portland, OR USA to become a full-time digital nomad while building a location independent business. I lived in Oregon for ten years before deciding to become a digital nomad.
I'm friendly, curious, and have an adventurous spirit. After doing the homeowner thing for the last 8 years, I've returned to a long-term international travel lifestyle.
I'm a blogger and budding entrepreneur building a business in the personal development/self-help space.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I used Couchsurfing extensively way back in 2006 during a three month trip and it was fantastic. Met awesome hosts and had wonderful stays in London, Warsaw, Krakow, Budapest and the Czech Republic. Haven't traveled extensively since then and I'm really excited to dust off the old travel bag and get traveling again.
Interests
Experiencing other cultures, meeting new people, technology, collaborative consumption / sharing economy, personal development, being out in nature
I'm also an iphoneographer. My Instagram feed is here:

Music, Movies, and Books
Music:
Just about anything except punk and heavy metal. In particular, I really like bluegrass/folk, world music (especially African), 80's pop and rock, chill/ambient. Some of my favorite artists are Mark Knopfler, Bruce Hornsby, and Peter Gabriel.
Movies:
Love me some documentaries, comedies, and slice-of-life/rom coms. I try to avoid movies with violence with one exception; I love James Bond movies, especially the more modern ones with Daniel Craig.
Books:
Pretty much all non-fiction including Buddhism, psychology, personal development, business leadership, neuroscience, spirituality. Favorite two books from the last five years are Mindset by Dr. Carol Dweck and Radical Acceptance by Dr. Tara Brach.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Well, let's see. Lots of amazing things, but one of my favorite amazing things is that I was cranked out some mean air guitar to Journey's 'Don't Stop Believin' in front of 1,000 people at a conference a few years ago.
Teach, Learn, Share
TEACH
I tend to teach what I need to learn. Therefore I spend a lot of time teaching personal empowerment, self-care, and accessing one's spirituality.
LEARN
I'm learning to get more connected to my body; in particular I feel self-conscious learning new styles of dancing. Recently began doing yoga and really enjoying it.
SHARE
I'm a tech early adopter and can share a deep knowledge in Apple product integration, online deal hunting, disruptive technology, Internet of Things, and am well-versed in the world of collaborative consumption (sometimes referred to as the 'sharing economy').
What I Can Share with Hosts
Titillating conversation on a variety of subjects, Apple product support and integration, and my tasty guacamole. I'm a very conscientious house guest; mindful of your space and your time.
