Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The earth is my cradle, I'm a wanderer by birth, one step at a time... every inch of the earth
ABOUT ME
This box can't hold 'all about me' but maybe someday we will meet over a coffee and take it from there.
PHILOSOPHY
Here in Nigeria, I come across big mean looking frowning men (mostly the police) frustrated from managing unruly people and the heat. Intimidating. But here's when I am always wrong... As I warily pass by, I smile and greet- 'Good morning sah.' You will be amazed at how the face transforms into a beaming smile, a nod and, 'Good morning my brothar, you are welcome! How today?' People all over the world are the same I guess... give some take some.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have met with Couchsurfers and hosted one... but when I talk to other people about couchsurfing... I do it like I own it!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
First, gratitude to the person who thought of Couchsurfing! I have met some amazing Couchsurfer travellers and others resident in Abuja. I have stayed at Denis' in Ghana and travelled with some. I have met some in India and one in Dakar over coffee or just a heritage walk. I have hosted one. It's always enriching.
Interests
Walk, walk and walk and then when I sit down a bit... tinker with anything that is paintable, mouldable, edible, audible or start walking again... and I can be quite indecisive and lazy.
Yoga and travel (I can talk about it all day!)
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies- Caramel, Dhobi Ghat, Shawshank Redemption, Fury, Little Boy, Wonder, To kill a Mockingbird, The bridge of spies
Books- To kill a mockingbird, Marching Powder, Fried Green Tomatoes at the Whistlestop cafe, Another Roadside Attraction, The Master and Magarita, The Autobiography of a Yogi
Music- I love Indian music with a touch of classical, contemporary music, African music; Bi Kidude is my favourite; Fela, Kora musicians... anything that makes me tap my feet and soul.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Run out in the 1st rain... gulping in the fragrant wafts of the scorched earth, arms spread palms upwards and braced up for the first drop to splatter my face. You do this and you will be smiling all over and most others hurrying from the rain will be sure you are off your mind!
Joined a bicycle trip from Badagry (Lagos) to Accra (Ghana)
Lost my shoe in thick snow on the Triund trek and ran down with one shoe for about an hour.
There's more but they said I must say only one!
Teach, Learn, Share
Just about an hour's drive from Abuja (capital of Nigeria) is Hope Eden (Gidan Bature, in Kuje). They do just that... Teach, Learn and share. Learnt a little bit about making clay bricks... and the kind of house I'd like to build if i build one and how a small start can affect and inspire so many people... http://www.hope-eden.org/

Now I am trying to share yoga and travel philosophy
What I Can Share with Hosts
My stories and some yarns. I am also very low maintenance. Can climb trees in your yard and bring down mangoes or coconuts for you. No fruits? Well, I can tie you a rope swing. No trees? We can plant some. And I can share your lunch with you!
You can join me in morning yoga or I can give you a massage.
