About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To explore the creative side of life.
ABOUT ME
Recovering left-brain geek. I'm in the midst of a three-year experiment to let go of all my normal ways of doing things and explore things I've always dismissed as "unrealistic" or "impractical." You can find out about the professional side of me at my website (http://www.SteverRobbins.com) and my podcast at http://www.GetItDoneGuy.com.
You can find out about my experiment with an expanded version of the TEDx talk I gave on it: http://www.steverrobbins.com/living-an-extraordinary-life/
PHILOSOPHY
You only live once. Make it awesome, make it extraordinary (whatever that means to you). Just make it count! Most people prefer safety to taking the risks that might lead to something great. Although I have my own share of insecurities, I learn a new skill every year and stretch myself whenever possible. My latest interest is in saving the world.

Music, Movies, and Books
My musical tastes start with the Beatles and include most of Rock n' Roll, punk, alternative rock, and the 80s. Love musical theater, especially the darker rock opera type shows (e.g. Next to Normal).
My taste in books tends towards sci-fi and fantasy that's heavy on character development, unpredictable plots, and unique situations. For non-fiction, I read a lot about psychology, decision-making, complex systems, business, various science [all the popularized-for-the-layman type stuff], the media, and change.
I pretty much like all movies except horror. Tend to love indie films, quirky, with great characters. And mainstream action films. And mysteries. And...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I am co-writing a two-person musical based on my book about personal productivity, with no prior singing, acting or writing experience. It's actually pretty good (but then again, my co-writer writes for Off-Broadway, so he can keep me on the path).
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach self-hypnosis, systems dynamics, neuro-linguistic programming, various self-help methodologies, and learning. As in, I teach people to increase their learning ability.
