About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I intend to be a force of nature, a storm of soul. I am going to see all I was meant to and experience everything I was not. Enjoying when I can and enduring when I must.

ABOUT ME

Having gone on a solo cross-country trip that took me 6,500 miles - from NY through the plains of the mid-west, mountains of Colorado, canyons of Utah and Nevada, out to Los Angeles and back through the deserts and mountains of Arizona and New Mexico, the heat of Texas, blues soul of Tennessee, and back of north, I really and greatly got a feel for what this site is about and how much of a community this place really is. Being back home now, this adventure really gave me the travel bug and has shown me how much I really want to put myself out there in the world and do my best to do great things.

On a more "typical about me" level, some of the things I like to do are run (partly my therapy), yoga (partly my meditation), and hang out with my cats (partly my joy). I love to go hiking and exploring nature and would love to try and do more outdoor activities (rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, etc.), but I love a good beer and occasional nights at the bar/pub, and the occasional crazy night in New York City is always fun. I try to be as diverse and open to experiences as possible, but at the same time still maintain the ability to think critically about things.

PHILOSOPHY

Lokah Samastah Sukhino Bhavantu

I don't have just one single philosophy, but I guess one I've been trying to follow lately is that if there is a goal or dream you have or something you want to accomplish, just do it. Don't hesitate, don't make excuses, don't over-think it, don't wait until the timing is just right or perfect, just do it or begin to work towards it. "Life is what happens while you're busy making other plans." I'm reaching a point in my life where I'm really trying to add depth and passion to my life, to really make the most of this journey, and not get lost in complacency and daily routine that has captured so many others.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

The interactions and experiences I've shared with those whose places I've stayed at has taught me a lot and I look forward to meeting more captivating people and sharing life experiences, insight, and stories by getting more involved in this site.

Being done with my cross-country journey, I have met some amazing, beautiful people. This site truly is a wonderful community of people looking out for each other and learning from each other, and my experiences so far have been nothing short of amazing. It isn't just a way to get a place to sleep for the night, but also a way for people to interact and teach and learn from each other, and really shows how caring people can be toward one another, it's beautiful.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A solo cross-country trip that really opened my eyes to the beauty of this world and its people and has shown me how interactive, adventuring, productive, and contributing I want to be in it.

After living on the Big Island of Hawai'i for six months, it just further showed me how great this world is. From the people I met and friends I've made, to the scenic beauty and history of the world, my time here was beyond amazing.

Teach, Learn, Share

Hmmm...I can bring stories, good company and beer, am a fairly decent cook (at least I like to believe so!), and hopefully a personality/experience that we'll both remember for years to come. As for what I want to learn...so much. Each encounter and experience with someone more worldly than myself (and I don't consider myself all that worldly so chances are you'll be more of it than I am hah!), or with someone with similar interests and similarities as me will hopefully further my personal growth and teach me and help me learn about this life and this world and everything it has to offer
