About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Allowing every day to be the best day I've had in a while. It seems to work well that way.

ABOUT ME

My life is centered around music, traveling and politics. Work is a means to enjoy the above 3 things.
I currently work for the NDP in Ottawa. It's a good combination of having a government job but also having a cool one.

PHILOSOPHY

"Ah! I have talked quite enough for to-day," said Lord Henry, smiling. "All I want now is to look at life. You may come and look at it with me, if you care to."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Attend CS events, spread the gospel, dodads and whatnot.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've hosted, couch surfed and made all sorts of awesome friends through here.

Interests

Politics is a big one. I also enjoy celebrating good news the next morning with an espresso and a san peligrino.

I try, as much as possible, to dress like an old man on his way to church.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to go by John Waters philosophy on people who read.

I also really love music, whether it's doowop music from the 50's, motown 80's music (unironically), early 90's RnB or indie rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Scuba diving in Jordan and Egypt, seeing Petra, playing with deer the way you play with dogs in Japan, the call to prayer in Istanbul, shabbat in Tsfat, drinking with UN workers, migrant workers and anarchists on a boat, camping with bedouin, getting my picture on a wall of a bar with a fake James Blunt.

Lately I've been organizing these food events with my friends where we get b/w $10-$20/person (depending on ability to pay) and then a couple of us head to the market to buy a ton of food on the cheap. All leftover money goes towards booze. The first time we cooked a 15 lb red snapper with a duck and chorizo paella. Then we went up to a friends cottage and made 4 different types of chicken (beer bud, jerk, honey ginger and mango passion) with a ceviche appetizer. We've also had a fish taco night where we attempted and failed to make guachummus as well as a pizza making party and a wine and cheese. We basically do them as a means to eat things we wouldn't cook on our own and just enjoy life.
