About Me

Hola! I'm Stevie, I was born and raised in Santa Monica, CA and then headed to college in New York City where I majored in International Studies. Due to my innate curiosity of the world, travel has always been a big priority for me. Not only have I been lucky enough to see almost all parts of the United States, but I also traveled to Ukraine at the age of sixteen and spent a semester of college in Ghana, West Africa where I was also able to visit Togo, and Burkina Faso. In addition, I've had some incredible opportunities over the years to visit other countries such as Lebanon, Mexico, Spain, Hungary, and Italy. After college I lived in the Bay Area for five years, working as a middle school Special Education teacher in two different high-needs schools. My sister has been living in Madrid, Spain for the past eight years, so I finally decided to join her here to learn Spanish, spend some much-needed quality time with her, and enjoy life outside of the United States.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a hip hop, rap, R&B lover. I love old school music. Reggae. Besides those favorites, I can pretty much get down with any type of music. I love watching documentaries. I'm currently reading "Open Veins of Latin America" by Eduardo Galeano. My latest favorite is "The New Jim Crow" by Michelle Alexander.
