About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Taking one day at a time, trying not to plan too far in advance, and lowering my unusually high expectations. Searching out meaning, research, and if I am lucky, a bit of fun and happiness.
ABOUT ME
I'm a graduate student at UCSB, working on a dissertation on the political economy of the antebellum era of US history. I have a loft apartment - my bedroom is upstairs and I can host one person on an air mattress downstairs. I am VERY BUSY so whether I can host you will depend, in large part, on my schedule. I can host for one night, maybe two at the most. People will usually notice my outgoing persona, firm handshake and nice character. I like being sarcastic, keeping up with friends, breaking down complex subjects, and saying whatever pops in my head with varying degrees of success :) When I'm not busy studying, I love to listen to music, follow current events, and go to the gym. I am a vegetarian and seek out interesting, philosophical conversations. I want to be a professor some day and think I can have a positive impact on peoples’ lives. How would I describe myself? Stable, dependable, and focused. In my work and in life I am highly ambitious and motivated. I am energetic, thoughtful, and perceptive
PHILOSOPHY
Be genuine, kind, and respectful. Don't blow people off; give people the time of day that they deserve.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfed across the country in summer 2010. Have hosted a few people since I've been back in SB. Trying to learn more about CS events.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My experience with CS has been fulfilling and rewarding. It not only enabled a cross-country trip for research at low cost, but I got to meet some amazing people along the way!
