About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Getting those creative atoms bouncin' round :)
ABOUT ME
This summer, I wanted something new. I quit my job in architecture and moved to Germany to pursue a masters. I hoped this would give me the opportunity to learn Deutsch, travel a ton and create a network of wonderful friends in Europe. So far, I'm off to a great start...
PHILOSOPHY
When I travel, I realize that people leave a deeper impression on me than sights. But when I see sights with people... it's kinda like an awesome double whammy.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Seeing how folks live and what brings them joy.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've heard really great things from my fellow CouchSurfer friends, but I have yet to lift-off on my own CS adventures. Personalities often shape my experiences of places... so I'm looking forward to meet a multitude of them :)
Interests
Including, but not limited to... rock climbing, gymnastics, architecture/design, dance, cooking, music composition, biking, hiking, and theater. I used to perform with this kickass group:
- theater
- performing arts
- architecture
- design
- dancing
- cooking
- traveling
- music
- cycling
- hiking
- rock climbing
- gymnastics
- olympics
- engineering
Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a sucker for self-help/education books. So I tend to bury my nose in language books, cookbooks, sheet music, design publications, etc. As for movies, I love all kinds... except scary flicks :/
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
On my flight from Copenhagen to Athens, I met an amazing couple sitting next to me on the plane that, on my last day in Greece, picked up my friend and I... treated us out to a scrumptious traditional Greek feast, drove us to the site of the first Olympics ever, and then drove us to the site of the current Olympic Stadium (this was in 2004, when Athens hosted the Games). The guy was a structural engineer for the stadium, so he explained to us all the ins and outs of the construction process. After the whirlwind tour, they dropped us off at the airport and wished us well. Til this day, I have been humbled by their incredible spirits.
Teach, Learn, Share
Although I grew up in and lived in California my entire life, my parents are originally from Vietnam. They fled a war-torn nation to give their kids a better opportunity in the States. Very grateful I am... and even more so that I'm able to embark on such great journeys far from home.
