Hi everyone.

I grew up in the UK, but have spent the majority of my adult life overseas. These experiences, along with the relationships formed along the way, have ultimately defined the person I am today, although I like to think that I am evolving day by day :)

I have tried to become a more confident and empowered person as the years have gone by, and this is still a work in progress to be honest. The most empowering features of my life these days are definitely education, travelling, and my relationships. I love to read, to learn, and to share thoughts and sentiments with like-minded people and diverse voices along the way. I enjoy travelling, hitchhiking, biking, trekking, you name it, I will try it :) I also appreciate my new passion photography, and my new best-friend, my camera, his name is Kamsoo :)

For the past 2 years I have been living in relative isolation in the far North of Finland as a researcher :) I have returned to South Korea (my second home) again now, and I would love to integrate back into the fabric of the culture.

Relishing the simple things in life is something I have discovered over time and through maturity that is for sure. Here are a few things that make me tick:

- Travelling, both grand and discrete.
- Walking at the extremes, early in the morning and late at night.
- Sampling food from around the world, and trying new dishes in the kitchen.
- Lifelong learning: Embracing the world of ideas, but not getting too caught up in those ideas along the way.
- East-Asia

As a researcher, reading became more of a profession than a hobby. Wading through academic literature is one thing, but finding a text that is capable of changing one's life and outlook is entirely another. One of my favourite books is by bel hooks, entitled, Teaching to Transgress (wholeheartedly recommended).

I have an eclectic music taste, if I enjoy it in the moment, I listen to it. I have taken a liking to classical music thanks to my partner, particularly Debussy and Chopin. I also like Indy Korean music, not so much K-Pop however :)

I used to watch movies a lot, but nowadays have been too busy. I like horror movies although my partner refuses to watch them with me :) I also like Japanese cinema.
