ABOUT ME
Update: Got a masters degree and now work full time as an engineer. Still love to travel but focusing more on hiking and exploring the pacific northwest which seems to have it all.
Hi,
names Ian. I recently graduated from uni, had some money and decided to see some of the world before settling down to further studies and then a job etc.
I spent a few months in argentina and a week in peru, then a week in tokyo and i'm currently in hong kong now. After hong kong i'm gonna head to thailand.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe in being honest, respectful and trustworthy and seeking out close friends in those that do the same.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I decided to join couch surfing because a lot of friends i've met while traveling have had excellent experiences with it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
so far only positive feedback from every person i know whose participated in cs events
Interests
hmm, a lot of sports- squash, golf, table tennis, hockey, snowboarding but i'll play/do pretty much anything. I also enjoy board games, card games etc.
I love traveling. I love trying new foods and seeing different cultures and how different people under different circumstances create cities that can be so different and yet so similar at the same time.
I also really enjoy going on hikes (day hikes or overnight)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i grew up in boston and went to school in toronto but i've also spent 1 month working on a farm in switzerland, rented an apartment in buenos aires for 2 months and lived with a family in tokyo for 2 weeks.
So while I don't jump out of airplanes or climb mountains (yet)- I've had some great experiences living in new environments that I think have given me a great perspective on life.
Teach, Learn, Share
I studied engineering in university (nanotech) and recently did a masters in fuel cells so I know about those fields (but am by no means an expert).
